AVM Kleinburg underway!

In Late November, equipment moved onto the site of our new Kleinburg location where construction has started. As timelines get finalized, we’ll know more about delivery dates and be able to schedule our opening plans accordingly.
We anticipate opening this location in Summer 2024.

Brother-and-sister duo Aleena and Bilal Zaidi dive into what a typical day looks like at their Angus Valley Montessori School franchise

Opening a preschool franchise location during a pandemic means you need to be flexible. You may have just figured out your typical day when everything changes andyour schedule, procedures, and more get turned upside down.

That’s what Aleena and Bilal Zaidi, a brother and sister franchising team, discovered when they opened their Angus Valley Montessori School location in September 2021.

The two, originally born in Canada, were raised in Pakistan and then returned to Canada for university. They say they work well together—as Aleena explains, “We depend on each other. If you have a sibling, you have to be there for them.”

The first challenges the two faced were delays in opening their Vaughan, Ontario location. The pair originally hoped to open in 2020, and then in summer 2021, Bilal says. “There were a lot of delays, labour shortages, and restrictions by York Region on how many people you could have in the building, [as little as] one tradesman at a time. We anticipated we would be open for summer camp, but that was pushed back.” download

MILESTONE CELEBRATIONS HELD AT THREE ANGUS VALLEY MONTESSORI SCHOOLS

In mid-October, the Angus Valley Montessori Schools corporate team together with its Franchise Owners of the AVM Pickering, AVM Vaughan and AVM Milton locations held celebrations. Ribbon-cutting ceremonies attended by local politicians, parents, educators, and children marked the One Year Anniversary of Pickering and the Official Grand Openings of Milton and Vaughan.

The three GTHA locations are the first franchises to begin operations. “We are very proud of these schools. The welcome they have received from local families has been outstanding,” said Murtaza Hasan, Founder speaking on behalf of the Franchisor. “If we can complete construction, set-up classrooms, train franchisees, and safely open these pre-schools all during Covid-19, we are uniquely prepared to achieve our goal to expand in the next couple of years,” he added.

Attendees at each event, had the opportunity to meet the local school’s team, learn more about the daily programs, and tour the bright and spacious facility.

Now accepting enrolments, AVM Schools aim to ensure children receive the best possible foundation on every level, so they are inspired for a lifetime of learning, growing, and achieving. OPEN HOUSE SEASON FOR BACK TO SCHOOL Our AVM Milton, AVM Pickering and AVM Vaughan schools each had well attended Open Houses with Tours in August. These events are a great way for parents to meet the team, learn about our customized Montessori curriculum, find out about the daily schedules for each age group, and take a tour of our bright, spacious classrooms, library, on-site kitchen and private playgrounds. UPTOWN LOCATION CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY! The new Uptown location at Yonge Sheppard Centre is slated to open in Spring 2022. Parents will find drop-off and pick-up easy with access to TTC and short-term parking. Comprising 10,000 square feet over three dedicated floors with private elevator access, our new location will be bright from floor-to-ceiling windows. Children will enjoy the 3,500 square foot private rooftop play area, a library, chef-inspired kitchen for daily meal and snack preparation. Parents will appreciate the convenience of the Yonge/Sheppard Centre with Longo’s (where we get our fresh food) as well as shops and services.

MILTON LOCATION IS OPEN! Exciting news! Our AVM Milton location at the revitalized Milton Mall is now open and accepting registrations for all ages. SUPER COOL SUMMER CAMP! AVM Pickering, AVM Vaughan and AVM Milton are all offering fantastic Kids Camp programs for children 6 months to 12 years. Choose 3 or 5 day weeks in two week periods, or book the entire summer. Camp runs from July 5th to August 27th, 2021.
